Am definitely not a perfume person but I got this Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT a few months ago as a birthday gift from my lil bro. I used to work part time at Changi Airport's duty free Perfumes & Cosmetics and I find it hard to find a scent that I like. But this fragrance is light and sweet. I really love it. Should remember to wear this more often!

I HATE sports and I'm super scared of heights but I have no idea what possessed me to go abseiling during a recent camp. Maybe if they had told me earlier that it wasn't compulsory, I wouldn't have done it but anyway, it wasnt that high, about 5m or so but was seriously super slippery. I lost footing like approximately a gazillion times, I could have won the worst abseiler of the day title. But hey, I did it anyway and I'm super proud of myself hehe.

Started with a rather mundane first week of holiday. Did nothing but some good ol slacking at home in front of the teevee, catching up with favourite cartoons and cooking shows.

Come second week, I was suddenly thrust into a temporary job at a little PCF kindergarten in Tampines doing teaching and stuff. It's been really crazy but very exciting. The kids definitely drove me up the walls but hey, I expected nothing less than that.

On a random note, have been obsessing over Harry Potter the past one week and have since decided that I shall watch the epic final movie of the series alone in the theater so that I can fully immerse myself in the Harry Potter world, sponging every single thing that is being splashed across the screen, then I shall watch it all over again and relive every moment of everything.

Yeah, that sounds like a plan. ;)

1. My bf calls it my 'musim magnum'.

Golden hazelnut, Almond, Double Caramel, Double Chocolate and more Golden Hazelnut flavoured goodness all consumed within one week courtesy of my daddy and the bf and yours truly herself.

2. Contrary to the post above, I'm apparently at my lightest, weighing at only 42.9kg! Hahaha. Gotta love the digital weighing machine at school. Must be very accurate right?!

The girl who trekked the jungle in skinny jeans

I haven't done picture post like this since forever. But what can I say, the camp was 10x better than I had expected. I was way out of my comfort zone and I had such a blast.

The adventure started with a treasure hunt at Lau Pa Sat, kite decorating and kite flying in Marina Barrage then racing through, amongst others, the Singapore Flyer, Marina Bay Floating Platform, Helix Bridge, Marina Bay Sands, Furletton Hotel, Esplanade Theater and back to Singapore Flyer with my ahmazing team before going on to clinch the first position. Followed by a redundant night fishing activity then supper at Tanjong Pagar Railway station with my teammates, laughing over the funny things that happened earlier that day.

Shrieked over the biggest centipede I've ever laid my eyes on upon my arrival at the camp site in Pontian, Johor. Rock climbing and flying fox, the most dreaded event in the agenda due to my fear in height turned out to be the best part of the day. War game that was about to ensue in the jungle was postponed due to the crashing sound of thunders and lightnings. Everyone dodged to the ground whenever the instructors shouted 'DOWN!', as the lightning crackled across the cloudy sky not too far from where we were. Finally, when the instuctors felt it was safe, everyone scurried through the trees and shrubs of burning leaves, down the hill to where the camp site was. The heavy thunderstorm caused the electricity power to short circuit too often. The lights flickered on and off for about an hour as we sat aimlessly in the assembly hall. It felt like a blanket of security to know that the Muslim boys and instructors was performing salat Maghrib and most likely praying for better weather in the boys' dorm room above. I, too, whispered prayers, hoping for protection as the thunderstorm went on like there was no tomorrow. Thankfully, the rain stopped pouring and indoor games ensued.

Jungle trekking up the mountain first seemed like a daunting task but it went on seamlessly. Scaled up the steep slopes by grabbing onto tree trunks, roots, rocks and each others' hands. Descending down the mountain wasn't any easier. The heavy rain from previous night moisturised the soil, leaving us with slippery slopes. Thank God I survived without falling flat on my face. If anything, I slipped and landed on my bum but I was already keeping myself close to the ground as instructed, that the fall didn't have much impact. At some point, I literally slide down the slopes, half scared to wits and half laughing like a little kid. I did manage to smack a friend in the face with a thick hanging root, the kind you see in Tarzan, that I was holding on to as I tried to regain my clumsy uncoordinated steps down the steep slopes. I also got bitten by a parasite somewhere near my left ankle. It felt like a red ant's bite, hardly painful but absofreakinglutely disgusting. Needless to say, I requested for it to be removed immediately. The adventure ended with a war game which I don't wanna talk too much about because being the klutz that I am, I managed to burst my own freaking bomb. I also shrieked like a sissy when I was outnumbered by opposing team, 3 over 2. Of course, I lost when my 'bomb' hit the ground instead of the opponent but I did get sweet revenge in the next game when my 'bomb' hit the person who caused my 'death' in the previous game. Haha.

I won't talk much about the rest of the happenings because this post is already long as it is but judging from this super long and passionate post, I absolutely had an amazing time. I will certainly relive the past 4 days, even it meant getting bitten by the disgusting blood sucking parasite for the second time. :)

1. Unlike the previous exam grades, the latest results made me.. laugh.

I tried my best, I could have done better but given the circustances, I'm rather content.

2. Found my late granddaddy's vintage Ray Ban aviators that he bought circas 1950s. They're still in good condition and comes with a matching leather casing. Timeless, vintage plus the sentimental value makes it the most perfect pair of sunglasses ever. Best part is that they're now mine. :)

Went to the cinema earlier today (prolly the 5th time in my entire life ha) to catch Sucker Punch with Tiks and Zura. The action-fantasy chick flick is jammed pack with mind blowing visuals, kick ass action sequences, eclectic mix of music pulsating in the background and of course, fancy costumes to feast the eyes.

Naturally being girls we started picking our favourites.

I loved the character Babydoll (haha if you're reading this Tiks) with her long blonde silky hair and coquettish schoolgirl outfit, but I settled with Sweet Pea, who was the last girl standing.

Aizat's 19th birthday gift from the family- Me and my mum went back and forth, trying to decide which watch to get, weighing in the price, design and suitability. In the end, we managed to agree on this one.

I have no idea why, really. We went through countless options but when we saw this particular piece, it was like "yeah, this is it". I have a feeling that it's got something to do with the square face.

Anati, on the other hand, wanted a bag which will help her lug about a gazillion things and we found this amazing tote from a local streetwear store for guys! It was the perfect find. Gorgeous inside and out. Love the little touches like the inner PVC trimmed slot and the inner double zipper.

And finally... *inhales deeply*

I splurged on a freaking watch! And it's not just any freaking watch.

It's my freaking dream watch! The very one that I wanted so bad since mid last year.

Also the one that my mother was going to get for me for my 21st birthday but we couldn't find it anywhere and I decided that I wouldn't have any other watch but THIS one. The huge array of AX, Guess, Adidas and other branded watches couldn't tempt me away because my mind was set. It was all or nothing. Not even the same one with a different colour.

And then today... there it was sitting behind the glass door, sparkling back at me.

I was gobsmacked. I took it as a sign that it was meant to be.

So without further ado..

Lol okay why? Because it reminds me of the sparkling night sky.

Seriously, how can I resist?!

ME!! The girl who spent her time staring at the sky, counting what little amount of stars the Singapore sky has to offer. And I wasn't even a kid then. I was in sec sch!!

Fast fact: Do you know that when you keep staring at the night sky, more and more stars will appear? All tiny and hardly visible but it’s there. I deduce this to the fact that light takes time to travel and these itsy bitsy stars must be really far!

Anyway, it was worth the wait. :D

My bedroom seemed twice as big after clearing the knee high pile of garbage/clothing/what not this afternoon. It's safe to say that the room makeover I was dreaming of is now within reach. I've officially decided to spend my extra money on buying furniture and home accessories, with the wish list all set and ready to be strike off. ^^

I have quite a clear idea of how I want my room to look like. Thankfully, my sister is leaving all the decisions to me because (1) I'm forking out every penny (2) She couldn't care less.

Researching and planning for this room makeover has left me rather inspired. Earlier this evening, my sister and I were exchanging our views, observation and ideas on our fashion preferences and the current fashion trends in Singapore. One idea leads to another and now I have a whole new direction that I'm going for, fashion wise. Needless to say, a wardrobe makeover is in the pipes as well. I hope this will lead me to buying clothes and accessories that I will actually love and wear because seriously, I spend way too much on things that end up buried in the depth of my closet.

One more day to go yeah.

I don't consider myself a huge risk-taker. I'm quite a goody two shoes who's content with living a simple fuss-free, albeit fashion obsessed life. But there are times when I just take a crazy plunge without weighing the repercussion. Like quitting sch without my parents approval. -.-

The one thing that I never have had the guts to do is to wear the lovely hijab. It's something that has been lingering in my mind since I was in secondary sch.

Back then, I told myself that I will wear the tudung when I turn 19.. 20.. 21.. but I never did. I guess it all boils down to my almost fanatical obsession for anything fashion related. When I have that huge desire to wear the scarf, my mind will linger to the fabulous pair of earrings and the sassy pair of skirt and it makes my desire to wear the hijab crawl back into the little corner of my mind.

But, since a part of my life is about taking the plunge, I might as well do it now, no? I mean if I were to take a risk, for the sake of being a better person, this might as well be it. And when that is the case, what do I have to lose no? Sigh.. I hope it won't be long from now and when it finally happen, I want to be truly content.

:) I've finally bought the wine lippie I've been longing for since a long time now.

I shall enjoy this exquisite shade of deep purplish red for as long as I can.

The dark moody colour is suitable for sombre occassions like when you screw up your test results and such.

Anyway, whilst trying out the lippie in the store just now, I came across two lipsticks in the gorgeous shades of coral red and shocking pink and I feel like I should get them too.

You know, there are times when you try to bottle up your feelings and pretend you are fine but a split second later, you just burst into tears and they start streaming down your cheeks and your eyeliner gets smudged but you don't even care, well hi, that's me today.

I got my phase test results and it was disappointing.

I got 67. Fucking 67/100.

Now, before you start cursing me for being such an unreasonable bitch, consider this.. I'm turning 21 this year. I've been doing this shit for the last 8 years, it's only natural for me to have high expectations for myself.

Plus, I saw almost half of the class got 70+ for the test. 70+.

Argh... was my work that bad?

What I secretly wanted was an average overall percentage of at least 85, or maybe 86 or 87 for my A&D module. It was just within my reach but alas, I missed it. I feel so miserable now. I know you are still prolly thinking how ungrateful I am but damn, I've work harder than the rest of the class. To have this fcking test pull down the rest of my marks is so depressing...

I need to dress for a funeral tomorrow.

To mourn the lost of what could've been a better grade for myself.

Half of my spirit just passed away.

Let's hope that I'll be able to summon them to be with me next term.

O m g. School is starting next week. Makes me sick in my stomach. Excited but extremely nervous. I know things won't be all rosies and sunshine. But I shall hope for the best. For lots of rosies and sunshine. Haha just kidding.

Work, on the other hand, is.. blah. I got scolded cos i didn't hit my target. So sedih. That old man is getting all riled up. Seriously, I always try to type as madly fast as I can but after a while, my brain just switch to auto-pilot mode. I will start to think about other things... and my typing speed starts decreasing a little, and a little.. and I lose focus. And then shit, I remember that I still have a lot to go.

Plus, I have a tendency of checking my entries for any mistakes, over and over, and it's taking up alot of precious time... Sigh. Mild OCD-lah. Cant help it. I'm sorry Syiqa. Soon, i gtg. :(

On a brighter note, I've finally compiled my list of ten essential basics. Haha.. It's like I finally made up my mind!! So happy ^^

Thrifting on Saturday. I wasn't expecting much.
Thankfully, I managed to score two bodysuits for a total of $5.
I also got the red indian-ish choker [pictured above] at a dollar.
I had to fight for it because Syafiqah wanted it as bad as I did before finally deciding the very next day that she doesnt want it. Yeah, it's currently my choker phase.Used to be earrings.

Had an amusing day on Sunday. I was at my grands place as always. Princess and Monster also came to visit. We spend the night learning the dance steps for Miley Cyrus' Hoedown Throwdown from Syafiqah.
Utterly hilarious. We ended up prancing around doing silly moves and laughing our ass off. Indian dance, belly dancing, Can-cans. We were undenially a bunch of maniacs. Did I mention that it all happened at the corridor? Haha.

The details are very blurry. This 17 year old boy. Cousin's cousin.

I've never seen him nor heard of him. Heck, I dont even know his name.

But somehow, learning about his death really panged me.

His friend, his so called friend, killed him! No one has the right to take away one's life. No one.

Now he's dead. That's it. His journey has ended. He can make no amendments.

My aunt recalled seeing him with his family, looking good, all smiles.

But he died with his family broken apart, parents a mess.

I know and I accept that every good and bad comes from God.

But it's too tragic. This ending.

Please include him in your prayers.

May God forgive all his wrongdoings.

I'd just cut my hair.. even shorter. Unlike the previous visit, I didn't bring any reference this time so I just ask for it to be chin length with the same style. My mom just bought a new bedsheet for my room.
I'm really happy with her choice. The design is very retro. I love the colour as well.

Matches the white/cream wardrobe.

I'm inspired to give my room a makeover. It's been girly pink for 3 years.

I love the positive vibe that the colour gives off and me and my sis couldn't think of a better colour but now, with the new bedsheet, light, light brown might be good.

And I shall replace the painting the i did for Foundation Year at La Salle with a new one.

My stomach is now a little flatter. Hee. =P

Thing is, I recently read that shortage of sleep will cause my body to think that I'm hungry even when I'm not. I guess it motivated me to stop giving in to my eccessive gluttony sin.

There were days when I actually consume up to 4 (much more if mummy prepared my favourite dishes) full servings of rice and lauk plus lots of snacks. Seriously, buncit.

Lately, I prefer some light food for breakfast cum lunch, before indulging into a full proper dinner.

I hope it stays that way.

On another note, I'm still not over MJ's death.

Tea Party: An afternoon social gathering at which tea and light refreshments are served.

So yeah.. 19th May 2009 was a fantabulous day.

We [Khairiah, me and with Shay's bf @ Azwan's help] had been keeping the surprise tea party for Shay's 20th birthday under wraps and boy, we totally caught her off guard. Haha.

Shay had NEVER been surprised like that so I think it was quite a feat for us. ^^

Plus, it's the first time we've had a picnic, ever.

Although we didn't have any candles for Shay to wish upon, it was nice to just laze around and sit and talk about things on our mind ^^ and gossip and camwhore and of course, sharing of ghost stories.. Teehee..

We should do picnics more often.

I bawled my bloody eyes through the night because once again, I was slammed for my imperfections. It’s unbelievably painful, despite how hard I tried to brush it off, to hear someone I respect saying negative comments about me. I guess maybe she harbors no aversion towards me but how can I not assume when the words spoken are hardly pleasing?

I cried my eyes out I tell you. I could hardly think and for the first time ever, I just felt like letting it all go. If that is going to end the criticism that I’ve been getting then so be it.

But by 5am in the morning, I started to pick myself up again. No matter how swollen my eyes have become, regardless of what people choose to say, I know deep down that things are going to be alright.

So thank you, this has made me much stronger as a person.
